What is Axe Throwing?

Axe throwing as an indoor competitive sport has taken off in Canada over the past decade. Like darts, axe throwing is an individual sport played with and against other members of a group. Individuals throw 1.25 lb. axes at wooden targets marked with a bullseye and score points based on where they stick the axe.

Is it safe?

Safety is our highest priority. We operate a very controlled environment and each guest who enters must go through our safety briefing and training session with our Axeperts before they can participate.

What should I wear?

Loose, casual clothing is fine. No high heels, hoodies are not recommended, closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended – guests assume all risk if closed-toe shoes are not used. 

Will someone teach me how?

Yes, each guest will undergo a briefing and training session. Our Axeperts supervise every session.

Do I need to book online, or can I come as walk in?

Our reservation system lists all available times and it is recommended that you book 1-3 weeks in advance to secure your session. Walk-in sessions are available on Friday and Saturday only, subject to availability.

Do you hold our time slot if we are late?

Axe Throwing and Escape Rooms at Corky’s are scheduled on a time basis (like movies) so we suggest guests arrive 15 minutes early, ready for a roaring good time. If you do arrive late, you will miss out on some of the fun and not receive a refund.

What is your cancellation policy?

When spots are purchased, they are automatically reserved and made unavailable to all other potential buyers. For this reason, we do not offer cancellation refunds. You can change your reservations up to 72 hours before your reservation. There are no changes or cancellations within 72 hours.

Will you supply the equipment?

Yes, we supply all materials and equipment including the axes. Guests will not be allowed to bring their own axe. Sorry, insurance company requirement.

Is there an age limit?

Curfews:

  • 17 and younger are welcome until 9 pm daily.
    (If between the ages 11-17 and throwing axes or playing escape rooms, one must have a parent present and a waiver.)
  • 20 and younger are welcome until 10 pm seven days a week.
  • Only guests 21 and over are permitted past 11 pm Friday & Saturday.
Do you have food and drinks?

Corky’s provides a full dining experience with a full bar. No outside food and beverages are allowed with the exception of birthday/celebration cakes. Corky’s will provide complimentary plates, napkins, and utensils.

Do you allow spectators?

Yes, Corky’s is a multi-venue concept and spectators are always welcome but must remain behind the yellow safety line.

Can I take pictures?

Yes, you can certainly take pictures and videos and, in fact, we encourage it! You will want to remember your first bullseye. We’d also love for you to tag us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Do you have leagues?

Corky’s will be conducting leagues and tournaments throughout the year. Contact any team member for detailed information.

How much does it cost?

Pricing per person, per session (75 minutes) is $29.00 plus tax.

If you have less than 4 people in your group, you may be combined in the same lane with other guests. For guests who would like to reserve a private lane, there is a minimum charge $116.

How do I book a group event or party?

Can I rent the entire Corky’s facility for large parties?

What are the hours of operation?

Corky’s Axe Throwing is open 7 days a week, Monday – Thursday, 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Friday and Saturday, 11:00 am to 11:30 pm and Sunday, 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

What is an escape room?

Escape Rooms are immersive adventure games with a group of people. Each game has a series of puzzles that must be solved in order to escape in less than 60 minutes. Join a group or bring your own group.

Will we actually be locked in the room?

No, the door will not be locked and you can exit at any time.

Do you offer same-day bookings?

Yes, click the yellow booking tab on the right side of this page for availability.

Will I be in a group with people I don’t know?

Yes, you may be teamed up with others to create a full team (6 to 8) of puzzle solvers to improve chances of escaping in the room in 60 minutes.

Can I book a private event or party?

You are welcome to book all spots in the room of your choice for your own private party. If you have a group larger than 24 people, please contact our event coordinator 817-532-5095.

What ages are allowed?

Everyone ages 11 and up are welcome. At least one responsible adult (over 18) must be a participant in the game at all times. If you book a private room or event, you are welcome to bring any ages you like.

What if I’m running late?

Each booking will start and end promptly on time. For this reason, we recommend arriving 15 minutes early. Guests arriving more than 5 minutes late for a public game will not be allowed to participate.

Each participant cost is $29. Due to the limited resources, age discounts are not offered.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking a minimum of 2 weeks in advance to guarantee your desired date and time is available.

Will I have to sign a waiver?

Every participant must sign a waiver. All participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver.

Where can I put my belongings?

There are lockers available for your belongings. However, if your belongings “escape”, Corky’s is not responsible.

Are we allowed to take pictures?

Photos are permitted outside of the actual escape room both before and after your game.

What if I need help during the game?

Each group receives 3 free “clues”. If you get stumped, you can ask the Game Master for additional clues. For each additional clue, 3 minutes is added to your final escape time.

What type of events do you typically host?

We host a variety of events- work outings, team building events, family events, bachelor/bachelorette parties, bar mitzvahs, ladies night out, family reunions, divorce parties, etc.

What are the hours of operation?

Corky’s Escape Rooms are open 7 days a week, Monday – Thursday 11 am to 10 pm, Friday and Saturday 11 am to 1 am and Sunday 12 pm to 10 pm.

What is the price?

$8.00 per hour with an additional 3 hours for FREE!

How does it work?

Corky’s classic games are played based on time, not per play. The time card can only be used on video and pinball games. Additional time may be purchased and added to the card by presenting it to a corky’s team member.

Is there a curfew?

17 and under are welcome until 9 pm daily. A waiver required for Escape Rooms and for Axe Throwing (11-year-old minimum) and a parent must be present.

18 to 20-year-olds are welcome until 11:00 pm, seven days a week. Only guests 21 and over are permitted after 11:00 pm Friday & Saturday.

Is smoking prohibited?

Corky’s is a non-smoking facility. No smoking with 25 feet of the building.
